Welcome to the consultation website for the proposed redevelopment of 29 Tite Street and the National Army Museum extension

Over the past two years, London Square and the National Army Museum have been working with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, local residents and stakeholders to develop proposals for the redevelopment of 29 Tite Street and the creation of new exhibition space for the National Army Museum.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to attend our previous consultation events in 2024 and 2025 , met with the project team and provided feedback throughout this process.

Following feedback received on the previous planning application (PP/25/04989), the decision was taken to withdraw the application in April. This has allowed the project team the opportunity to review and revise the proposals in response to comments from the Council, local residents and other stakeholders before bringing forward revised plans.

We are now sharing the revised proposals with the community before submitting a new planning application to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Both of these events will take place in 29 Tite Street.

From Tuesday 21 to Friday 31 July there will be an unmanned display in the National Army Museum, which is open from 10:30am to 5:30pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

Information displayed at the events and an online feedback form will be available on this website from Friday 17 July 2026.

London Square

Founded in 2010 and inspired by the ethos of London’s famous squares, many of which can be found in Kensington and Chelsea, we are committed to recreating this beauty in all our developments, whilst instilling legacy and sense of community.

National Army Museum

The National Army Museum shares the history and heritage of our soldiers and their service in the Army, across the globe and down the centuries. Through our collections we explore the history of the Army from its origins to the present day. We aim to engage and inspire everyone with the stories of our soldiers and how their service shapes our world; past, present and future.

We welcome the opportunity to work with London Square on this once-in-a-lifetime moment to support our mission to inspire audiences of all generations with the stories of British soldiers and those from across the world, and our Army who have served in every corner of the globe.

The National Army Museum chose to relocate to Chelsea in 1970, and this development will complete the vision of our founders, helping us reach even more visitors and strengthen our community role within this remarkable and historic borough.

We’ve worked extensively on these plans and are excited for the potential they offer to us and our partners in the Chelsea Heritage Quarter, the Royal Hospital Chelsea and Chelsea Physic Garden.
